Hi everyone,
First off thank you for entrusting me to invade your emails. I’ve no idea how regular I will be with these, I just wanted an outlet that allowed me to share my work that felt more personal and is slower to view.
So anyway, here are some scraps from the studio I have been sifting through. They are bits of paper that I use to test colour and composition on, figuring bits out for larger paintings. Some of them I rip up in a rage, annoyed nothing is working, before finding them weeks later in their new form with no recollection of how I came up with them.
Some develop into larger pieces, some I struggle to make work away from the small scraps. It’s a constant battle trying to match the energy and effortless feel of these small experiments. Anyway, here are all my favourites -
