I have a couple of news related things happening outside of the studio to talk about. First off is that I have joined the art collective Wondering People. I have 11 pieces available through their site, from large scale paintings and drawings to smaller pieces.
There are some other great artists who are with them including Sophie Birch who I share a studio with, as well as Holly Mills and Otis Blease who I know through The Drawing School.
There are group shows in the pipeline through Wondering People alongside the others in the collective and I am looking forward to showing these pieces in real life.
The second bit of news is that I will be exhibiting a selection of mono-prints at this years Woolwich Print Fair from 3rd - 6th November. I will be showing with Blue Shop Cottage among a showcase with five other artists.
I will be showing six framed pieces as well as a selection of unframed too. The work itself was produced earlier this year, working from city studies I did out and about in London then printed in the etching studio in The Royal Drawing School. Each piece is a one off, painted directly onto the plate using printing inks and a cotton bud, before being sent through the press. This specific process of printing took my original angular, rigid studies and pushed them into a much looser and softer representation of place.
Alice Hartley, Sophia Mcnab, Ines Fernandez De Cordova, Greg Stevens and Sammi Lynch make up the five artists I will be showing with.
